OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 31, 2025—Curls Joyful Wagon continued her impressive campaign Saturday night with a determined score in the Grade 1 $108,000 Junos Request Stakes at Remington Park, prevailing by three-quarters of a length in the 400-yard feature for fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up.
Ridden confidently by champion jockey Francisco Calderon, the 5-year-old brown mare surged from the gate and held her advantage to the wire, stopping the timer in 19.486 seconds over a fast track.
Bred and owned by Martin Stacy of Oklahoma, Curls Joyful Wagon is by Pyc Paint Your Wagon and out of the Spit Curl Jess mare Eye A Spit Curl Girl. The win pushed her career earnings to more than $450,000, earning $63,300 for the victory.

Trained by John Stinebaugh, the consistent mare has now compiled a string of competitive efforts at the stakes level and continues to prove her class among older mares. She entered the race off a win in the Grade 2 Decketta Sakes in March and was third in the Grade 1 Charger Bar Handicap at Los Alamitos last January.
Finishing second was Alliekat Dynasty, a 4-year-old sorrel filly by four-time world champion sire FDD Dynasty, out of Pollitical Scorpion by Apollitical Jess. Bred in Oklahoma by Jahree Standridge, Alliekat Dynasty is owned by Arrowhead Racing (Anita Ruiz) and trained by Ruben Ruiz. Roman Cruz had the riding assignment, piloting her to a solid runner-up effort worth $21,100. Winner of the Easy Date Stakes (RG2) in her last start she has banked $320,867 off nine win in 16 career starts.
Third-place honors went to Bp Moonlight, a gray 4-year-old daughter of champion Moonin The Eagle and the Southern Cartel mare Bp Shes Southern. Bred by Bill Price (OK), she is owned by David Pena-Marrufo, trained by Sebastian Gonzales, and was ridden by Joseph Belloc, Jr.. Bp Moonlight was a $12,500 purchase at the 2022 Heritage Place Yearling Sale and collected $11,605 for her third-place finish. She has earned $167,406 in 16 starts.
Completing the field were Deep Blue, Flying Sophia, Hallmarke, Baby Ruth,Woopaa, First Time For Wine, and Edelyns Pyc.

The stakes event honors the outstanding mare Junos Request, a winner of over $362,000 on the track and a finalist in 10 graded stakes races, including the Grade 1 All American Derby and Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby. A daughter of Junoimgood out of Easy Request, Junos Request became a cornerstone of Quarter Horse racing in the early 1990s and has since established a legacy both on the track and in the breeding shed.
