OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 31, 2025—Jc The Hitman lived up to his name Saturday night at Remington Park, outdueling a pair of talented rivals in the $75,000 Easy Jet Stakes(RG3) for 2-year-olds going 350 yards.
The sorrel gelding stopped the clock in 17.562 seconds, a 91 speed index over a fast track, edging out Godz Speed by a length, with Ding Dang Dulce another neck back in third.
Bred in Oklahoma by Jose Cervantes, Jc the Hitman is by leading 2-year-old sire Flying Cowboy 123 out of the Ivory James mare Jc Storm. He races for his breeder, Cervantes, and is trained by Josue Garcia. James Pulido guided him to his second win, which was worth $42,600 to his connections. He has now earned $76,865 in three starts.

Runner-up Godz Speed, a gray colt by Freighttrain B out of champion filly Matabari by Mr Jess Perry, was bred in Oklahoma by Bobby D. Cox. He is owned by Double A Ranch, Inc., trained by Rolando Gonzalez, and ridden by Alan Martinez. The second-place check was worth $14,200. Third in the Laico Bird Stakes(RG3) in his previous start Godz Speed has earned $33,861 in three starts.
Finishing third was Ding Dang Dulce, a sorrel gelding by leading first-crop sire Dulce Sin Tacha out of the Valiant Hero mare Valiant Strawfly. Bred in Oklahoma by Neff Hogue Farm LLC, he is owned and trained by Haley Hobbs, and ridden by Francisco Fonseca-Soto. The $10,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate earned $7,810 for his third-place effort. Second in the Laico Bird Stakes(RG3) in his previous start he has earned $36,675/
Argyles, Ninja Cowboy, Asher, Coronas Fancy Wagon, Southern Furrtreeous and Maxximum George completed the field.
The finish showcased a promising crop of juveniles in one of Remington Park's highlight events for 2-year-olds.

The Easy Jet Stakes is named in honor of Easy Jet, one of the most legendary Quarter Horses in racing history. Foaled in 1967, Easy Jet won the 1969 All American Futurity and was named World Champion in 1970. A son of Jet Deck out of Lena's Bar, he earned over $445,000 on the track before becoming one of the breed’s most influential sires, with more than 1,500 foals and a legacy that continues to shape Quarter Horse racing today.
