Jkh Almost A Dynasty Triumphs in 2025 Wyoming Oaks Debut at Energy Downs 307 Racing

GILLETTE, WY–MAY 16, 2025–In an exciting season opener, Jkh Almost A Dynasty emerged victorious in the $27,500 Wyoming Oaks Stakes at Energy Downs 307 Racing on Friday afternoon.

The talented 4-year-old filly edged out Jr Sakes Alive by a neck, marking her fifth career victory in just 14 starts.

Ridden by jockey Brayan Juarez, Jkh Almost A Dynasty, the daughter of multiple stakes sire Jr Dynasty Mountain, completed the 350-yard race in a swift 17.462 seconds, securing an impressive speed index of 104 with the help of a 16 mph tailwind.

Under the direction of trainer Calli Dominguez, Jkh Almost A Dynasty is owned by UDM Investments, LLC. With the winner's share of $13,750 from the Oaks, her career earnings have now reached $90,839.

Bred in Wyoming by Gordon Knudsen, Jkh Almost A Dynasty is out of the Favorite Cartel mare Almost Early and previously claimed victory in the Wyoming Bred Derby at Energy Downs last September.

Meanwhile, CG Racing LLC's Jr Sakes Alive, trained by Kylie Valenzuela and ridden by Tyson Lusk, turned in a commendable performance, securing second place and earning $5,500. This multiple stakes winner, a 4-year-old daughter of Pappasito, has had a successful career with six wins in 17 starts and total earnings of $119,590.

Bred by J R Stables in Nevada from the One Famous Eagle mare JR Mahalia, she showcased her competitive spirit throughout the race.

Finishing just behind her was Sage Runner, a 5-year-old mare by Valiant Hero, who crossed the line three-quarters of a length back. Under the guidance of Valente Vorrath, Sage Runner earned $2,750 for her effort. Trained by Jose Chaves and owned by Jose Castaneda, this Oklahoma-bred mare is out of the Tac It Like A Man mare Sorchae and has earned $53,247 in her career.  Marty and Shalia Powers are the breeders.

Completing the order of finish were Budder Off Friends, Ud Cholula, Drive (in a dead heat), Rayshas Pink Cartel (also in a dead heat), Cayenneoverthemoon, and Love Ta Fly. Denali Snowflake was scratched from the race.

Live racing at Energy Downs continues on Saturday with an exciting 10-race card, kicking off at 1:30 p.m. (MDT). The highlight will be the $26,750 Derby Club Sprint Stakes, featured as Race 6, with an estimated post time of 3:30 p.m.
