First Down Karma Gets Up Over Stablemate In Desert Classic Futurity Win at Turf Paradise

PHOENIX, AZ—APRIL 29, 2025—First Down Karma drifted in from the outside post under jockey Jacob Enriquez but still got up to defeat stablemate Alitlelesstalk by a neck in the $83,600 Desert Classic Futurity at Turf Paradise Racetrack on Tuesday.

First Down Karma kept his record perfect at 2-for-2 as he completed the 300 yards in 15.900 seconds, equaling an 86 speed index into a 7mph headwind. Matt Fales conditions the son of leading second-crop sire Tell Cartel for owner-breeder Alejandro M. Ibarra,

Bred in Arizona, First Down Karma is our First Down Dash mare, First Down Sass. He earned $41,800 to boost his earnings to $46,680

Tell Cartel also sired runner-up Alitlelesstalk, an Arizona homebred for owner-breeders Carolyn and Ralph Fales. Matt Fales conditions the gelding out of Jess One Looke by Jesse James Jr for his parents. Alitlelesstalk has yet to find the winner's circle in three starts and earned $16,720 for his effort.  Oscar Andrade had the riding call.

Trainer Havid Canez saddled third-place finisher Zm Jess, who was a half-length back for owner Jose Martinez. Elias Guitierrez rode the son of Jess Different from the Jess Louisiana Blue mare Jess A Blue Tac. Bred in Arizona by Francisco Molina, Zm Jess earned $8,360 for the effort.

Stellaaa, Block N Tell, Ts Daddys Girl, Famous In Lace, Dangerous One, and Say Its Not So.  Ts Kiss My Tail was scratched.
