Cayenneoverthemoon Gets Clean Trip, Defends Title In Ron Moosman Memorial Stakes

GILLETTE, WY—MAY 26, 2024—Cayenneoverthemoon got a clean trip under jockey Noe Garcia to win the $20,500 Ron Moosman Memorial Stakes at Energy Downs 307 Racing on Sunday. The 5-year-old mare also won the 2023 Ron Moosman Memorial Stakes.

Garcia guided Cayenneoverthemoon to a one-length victory over her stablemate Baby I Du, clocking 20.299 seconds for the 400 yards, a 90-speed index with a 5 mph tailwind.

Trainer Matt Tryston saddled the chestnut daughter of Brindis Por Cayenne to her 11th career victory for owner Walker Larson. The $11,250 winners' purse boosted the mare's earnings to $114,610.

S Bar S bred the multiple stakes winner in Wyoming from the Apollo (TB) mare Dasmetothemoon.

Runner-up Baby I Du, also a multiple stakes winner, earned $3,375 for finishing second.  Tryston named jockey Jarred Journet to ride the 4-year-old Duponte gelding for owners Daisy Carlson and Joe Goggins. Flag Ranch LLC bred the $73,897 earner in Oklahoma from the One Famous Eagle mare Lil Baby Eagle.

Stakes winner B The One finished a head back to earn $1,913 for third. Abelardo Gonzalez trains the Oklahoma-bred son of multiple stakes sire Five Bar Cartel for owner Luis Gonzalez. Randy and Stacy Hill bred B The One from the Mr Jess Perry mare KT Perry. The six-time winner has earned $65,773.

Sb Timetoshine, Price Fixer, Sundancin Kid, Country Rocket Foose, Yo Morning Delite, Messanger, and Diamond Dusting completed the field.
