OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–APRIL 20, 2026–Uncle D continues to set the pace among third-crop sires as he added another milestone this weekend when Uncle Redheads captured the $75,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes at Remington Park.

Stopping the clock in 17.535 seconds for 350 yards, Uncle Redheads proved best in a tightly contested finish between stablemates. Breaking from post-position 10, he surged down the outside while Famous N Relentless saved ground along the rail from the inside draw. The pair matched strides through the stretch, neither giving an inch, before Uncle Redheads edged clear in the final jumps.

When the photo finish was posted, Uncle Redheads had prevailed by a narrow margin. Jockey Armando Alvidrez kept him driving through the wire, delivering the 2-1 favorite in a determined effort.

Charles and Elizabeth Horton bred the 3-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelding out of Redheads Run Hotter, a daughter of One Sweet Jess. The victory marked his sixth career win and added $42,750 to his record, pushing his earnings to $234,422.

The win also carried added significance for his connections. It was the first victory in this series for Alvidrez, trainer Jason Olmstead, and owner Cavenaugh Quarter Horses of Fran Cavenaugh. The operation has a history in the race, having won it in 2018 when G.R. Carter rode Weetonas Lafawn for owner Donald Cavenaugh and trainer Clint Crawford.

Uncle D’s influence extended beyond the stakes win. He also sired runner-up D Amor in the $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Stakes on Saturday night. Closing strongly, D Amor finished second to Apollitikal Dreamer and earned $17,347, boosting his earnings to $41,737.

Kasey Willis trains D Amor for owners Robyn Gordon and Greg S. Johnston. The $40,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate was bred by Cavenaugh Quarter Horses LLC out of Lady Dynasty, by FDD Dynasty.

Uncle D has quickly built a reputation as a consistent leading sire across every crop to race. He now leads third-crop sires in the nation and has surpassed $3 million in progeny earnings with an average of $22,000 per starter.

That record is anchored by a strong group of performers, including five performers who earned $100,000+. Heavens Uncle leads the way with $508,399 and victories in the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity and the Bob Moore Memorial Stakes. Uncle Redheads now adds more to that resume with $234,422 and a stakes win this season to go with last year’s Valley Junction Futurity. Runninagaindstwind has earned $149,021 and won the QHRAI Derby. D Fawn has $107,813 and was a finalist in the PCQHRA Breeders Futurity. Curlie D has earned $107,582 with placings in the Northlands Futurity and Valley Junction Juvenile Stakes.

With another stakes winner on the board and depth across his runners, Uncle D continues to strengthen his standing as one of the most productive young sires in the game. For breeding contracts or further questions, contact Rene Wilson, Farm Manager at Prestige Equine, at (989) 621-1090.
