Mr High Five Springs 12-1 Upset In $100,000 Rainbow Invitational

Mr High Five Springs 12-1 Upset In $100,000 Rainbow Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, NM—JULY 11, 2026—Mr High Five scored the biggest win of his career Saturday, upsetting the $100,000 Rainbow Invitational Stakes at the Downs at Albuquerque.

Piloted by Sergio Becerra Jr, the 3-year-old gelding covered the 440 yards in 21.004 seconds, earning a 99 speed index while defeating Ajs Wingman by three-quarters of a length. His 12-1 upset returned $25.40 to win and earned him the $42,000 winner's share of the purse.

Breaking from the rail, Mr High Five was quickest away and never looked back, leading from gate to wire with an 18 mph crosswind. Coming off a third-place finish in his Rainbow Derby trial, he returned with a career-best performance to earn his first stakes victory.

Trainer Marco Flores saddled the Oklahoma-bred for Tungsten Racing Partnership and Heysol Howlet. Mr High Five has now won three of nine starts and increased his earnings to $183,181. He was a finalist last season in both the Southwest Juvenile Invitational (G2) and the All American Juvenile.

The son of leading living sire Apollitical Jess was bred in Oklahoma by Sam Green out of the FDD Dynasty mare Ms Southern Dynasty. Mr High Five sold for $155,000 at the 2024 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Ajs Wingman was clearly second throughout while earning his first black type. The son of Apollitical Jess races for owner and breeder Paul Treadwell and is trained by Jason Olmstead. Ramiro Garcia had the riding assignment.

Bred in Kansas, he is out of the Shazoom mare Xoom. A multiple graded stakes finalist, Ajs Wingman competed in this year's Heritage Place Derby (G2) and last year's All American Futurity (G1). He now owns a record of three wins, four seconds, and one third from 13 starts with earnings of $216,840.

Cyber Blues picked up his first black type with a third-place finish. Racing for Rancho El 48 LLC, the gelding is trained by Rodolfo Valles and was ridden by Christian Cardenas. The son of Cyber Monday was bred in Oklahoma by L O S LLC and Abelardo Gallegos. He is out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Mystic Blues and was a 50,000 repurchase in the 2024 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.

Cyber Blues finished fourth in this year's Heritage Place Derby (G2) and was a finalist in last year's Texas Classic Futurity (G1) and Heritage Place Juvenile. His record now stands at one win, three seconds, and three thirds from 11 starts with earnings of $85,223.

Apolitical Valor, Kowboy Boogie, Mm Rampage, Tga Cowboy, Jess Hot Z, Traxion, and Expenssive Boots completed the order of finish.
