ALTOONA, IA–JULY 4, 2026–Fastest qualifier Winnemuca lived up to her billing on Saturday, holding off a determined challenge from Im A Boujee Chick to capture the $30,000 Prairie Meadows Gold Juvenile at Prairie Meadows.
Ridden by Cristian Esqueda, Winnemuca broke sharply, cleared to the lead early and held late to win by a head in a time of :17.781 for 350 yards, earning a speed index of 87. The brown filly was sent off as the 2.70-1 favorite and collected the $9,600 winner's share of the purse.
Owned by Thomas Scheckel and trained by William Harris, Winnemuca was bred in California by Steve Burns, DVM. The $40,000 Ruidoso Yearling Sale graduate is by champion sire Favorite Cartel and out of the stakes-winning A Classic Dash mare Classic Sassy Chic.

She is a full sister to stakes winner The Big Favorite ($225,928) and a half-sister to stakes winners Foose Lodge ($113,587), China Wall ($58,568), and Classic Sassy Check ($52,770). The victory was her first from three starts and increased her earnings to $15,800.
Im A Boujee Chick finished gamely to secure second, just a half-length ahead of the rest of the field. Ridden by Armando Alvidrez, the filly stopped the timer in :17.801 with a speed index of 87.
The Chase This Chick Syndicate homebred is trained by Jason Olmstead. By Im A Fancy PYC and out of the Country Chicks Man mare Chase This Chick, she now owns a record of 4-0-2-1 with earnings of $11,321.
Lovlee rallied from the outside to capture the show position under Ramiro Garcia, completing the distance in :17.896 and earning a speed index of 84.
Owned by the Marla K. Robinson Family Trust and trained by Jason Olmstead, the filly was bred by Tom Maher and Dick Tobin. She is by Favorite Cartel out of the stakes-winning Apollitical Jess mare Lynnder 16.
Her female family traces to champion Tiny First Effort ($445,393). Lovlee now sports a record of 4-0-1-2 with earnings of $10,429. Earlier this year, she was a finalist in the Remington Park Juvenile Stakes.
Urban Cowboy 123 finished fourth and was followed by Tnr Aunt G, Why So Political, and Quit Kissin My Hocks. Jump Jump Jerry and Kj Wild Lily were scratched.
