PHOENIX, AZ—DECEMBER 4, 2025—Three trials for the $75,000-est. AQRA Futurity was contested yesterday at Turf Paradise, producing a competitive group of 2-year-olds who secured berths in the December 26 final at 350 yards.

The 10 fastest Arizona-bred juveniles advanced, led by Alitlelesstalk, who posted the quickest time of the afternoon.

Alitlelesstalk, a gelded son of second-crop sire Tell Cartel out of Jess One Looke by Jesse James Jr, delivered a gritty performance in the second trial, engaging in a head-to-head battle before digging in to win by a nose in 17.886, the fastest qualifying clocking of the day.

Raced by Carolyn and Ralph Fales and trained by Matthew M. Fales, the Arizona-bred gelding was ridden by Luis A. Valenzuela. He won the Desert Classic Futurity in April after his stablemate First Down Karma was disqualified for interference.

Bred by Ralph or Carolyn Fales, Alitlelesstalk passed through the 2024 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, where he was repurchased for $23,000. He has won two of five career starts and earned $48,982.

Finishing just a nose behind the top qualifier was the second-fastest overall performer, Zm Jess, who stopped the timer in 17.887. The gelding by Jess Different out of Jess A Blue Tac by Jess Louisiana Blue showed sharp speed from the outside post and battled gamely to the wire.

Owned by Jose Juan Martinez, trained by Havid Canez, and bred in Arizona by Francisco Molina, Zm Jess was ridden by Oscar Andrade Jr. Runner-up to Alitlelesstalk in the Desert Classic Futurity last April, Zm Jess has finished second in three of five starts and earned $20,905.

Completing the top three qualifiers was Heart On A Run, who dominated the opening trial of the day with a polished wire-to-wire effort. The Corona Cartel filly out of One Spicy Eagle by One Famous Eagle drew clear to win by more than a length, stopping the clock in in:17.989.

She races for J Lazy Six Racing and was bred by J Lazy Six Ranch. David John Williams conditions the bay filly, who was piloted to her decisive victory by Kevin Carbajal. Breaking her maiden in the trial, Heart On A Run was second in the AQRA President's Open Futurity in May. She has earned $18,116.

All three top qualifiers will return for the AQRA Futurity final on Friday, December 26, where they will compete for the $75,000-est purse at Turf Paradise.
