ROCKY VIEW COUNTY, AB—OCTOBER 11, 2025—Miss Fancy Nancy proved best in a driving finish to capture Saturday’s $15,244(US) Aged Invitational Stakes at Century Downs, a 400-yard event for three-year-old and upward Quarter Horses.
The multiple stakes winning four-year-old brown filly by Big Lew out of Singles Cruise by Favorite Cartel stopped the timer in 19.689 seconds with a 101 speed index while running with a strong 45mph tailwind over a fast track.
Ridden by Daniel Tavares and trained by Misael Moreno, Miss Fancy Nancy broke sharply from her inside post and dueled throughout before edging clear late to prevail by a neck.
Bred and owned in Alberta by Barry and Janice Sather, the talented filly earned $7,866(US) for the victory, increasing her career bankroll to $105,128. A winner of eight of 21 starts, she four stakes this season.
Miss Fancy Nancy returned $3.50 to win, $2.40 to place, and $2.10 to show in the day’s opening race.

Second place went to stakes winner Fired, a four-year-old brown gelding by Fly Thru The Fire from Ruths Chris by Separatist. Bred in California by Steve D. Burns DVM, and owned by Jerry Stojan, the gelding was trained by William Leech and ridden by Ricardo Moreno.
Fired broke well, gained the early advantage, and led briefly before being out-finished near the wire, earning $3,858 (US) for his solid runner-up effort. An $18,000 purchase from the 2022 Los Alamitos Equine Sale, he has earned $87,384 in 18 starts.
Graded stakes winner Pretty Sweet Jess, a four-year-old sorrel filly by One Sweet Jess out of Pretty Lethal by First Down Dash, rallied gamely late to finish third, three-quarters of a length behind the runner-up.
Bred by Veronica Gail Kawananakoa of California, the filly is also owned by Stojan, trained by Leech, and was ridden by Alexander Marti. She earned $1,781(US) for her performance. Purchased for $17,000 at the 2022 Los Alamitos Equine Sale, she has earned $141,193.
Krash On Okey, Willie Lump Lump, and Stayin On Corona completed the order of finish.
