Jkh Almost A Dynasty (#9) battles Er Mountain X (#7) for the fastest time in the $74,800 WABRA Wyoming Bred Quarter Horse Maturity trials at Sweetwater Downs today.

ROCK SPRINGS, WY—SEPTEMBER 14, 2025—Jkh Almost A Dynasty surged late to win the opening trial by a nose and posted the fastest qualifying time on Sunday afternoon at Sweetwater Downs for the $74,800 WABRA Wyoming Bred Quarter Horse Maturity.

Four trials were contested at 400 yards for accredited Wyoming-bred 4-year-olds and up, with the 10 fastest qualifiers earning spots in the Saturday, September 27 final.

Ridden by Gerardo Vera, Jkh Almost A Dynasty covered the distance in 19.658 seconds, a 102 speed index with a 10 mph tailwind, edging Er Mountain X in the day’s most exciting finish.

The 4-year-old filly by multiple stakes sire Jr Dynasty Mountain, out of Almost Early by Favorite Cartel, races for UDM Investments LLC and was bred in Wyoming by Gordon Knudsen. Calli VanTassell Dominguez conditions the multiple stakes winner, who has now won seven of 21 starts and earned $111,916.

Er Mountain X, also by Jr Dynasty Mountain, posted the second-fastest clocking of 19.660 after leading most of the way before being caught at the wire.

The 4-year-old colt is owned by Ross Brown and Elsha McGarry, who also bred him in Wyoming. Brown saddled the homebred, while Minor Arana had the riding call. Er Mountain X is out of Ud Midnight Peach, by Perrywithrhythm.

The $74,800 WABRA Wyoming Bred QH Maturity final is scheduled for Saturday, September 27 at Sweetwater Downs, with the 10 fastest from today’s four trials returning to compete at 400 yards.
