Especially Tempting Breaks Maiden In $39,039 (US) Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity

AJAX, ONT–SEPTEMBER 10, 2025–Especially Tempting broke her maiden in style on Wednesday afternoon, charging late under jockey Cassandra Jeschke to capture the $39,039 (US) Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity at Ajax Downs.

The sorrel filly completed the 330-yard test in 17.571 seconds, holding off the two heavy favorites Alabama Mooonshine and Agent Ice by a neck. The victory was worth $17,351 to her connections.

Especially Tempting races for owner John Wilson and is trained by Reid. The win came at 7-1 odds paying $15.40 to win and was her first career stakes win following a third-place effort in the Ontario Bred Futurity in July.

Bred in Ontario by Scott Reid, Especially Tempting is by Makin an Effort and out of Tempting First Dash, by Shining First Dash.

Runner-up Alabama Mooonshine put in another determined performance for under jockey Ramiro Castillo. The black filly by Look At Magics Form crossed the wire a neck in front of Agent Ice.

Still seeking her maiden victory, Alabama Mooonshine has now recorded two runner-up finishes from as many starts, including a second-place finish over Especially Tempting and Agent Ice in the Ontario Bred Futurity.

Bob Broadstock saddled Alabama Moonshine for owner-breeder Marie Broadstock.  She is out of Ms Dashin Corona by Coronas Leaving You,

Agent Ice, the post-time favorite, had the lead early before fading late to finish third, a neck behind Alabama Mooonshine. The bay gelding was bred by Guylaine Paquin out of Stolin Ivory, by Ivory James.

The son of Cold Hard Dash races for owner Amelie Aubut, and is trained by Jason Pascoe. Jockey J. Botello had the call. Agent Ice has yet to break his maiden but now owns a second and a third from three starts, including a fourth-place finish behind Especially Tempting in the Ontario Bred Futurity.

Shake Em Alice, Haaave You Met Karma, and Jedi Master round out the order of finish.
