VINTON, LA—AUGUST 30, 2025—San Juana Montano’s Jes Winnin Cartel delivered a gate-to-wire victory in Saturday’s running of the $56,000 Audubon Stakes at Delta Downs, defeating a field of Accredited Louisiana-Bred three-year-olds and up fillies and mares.

Covering the 330-yard distance over a wet-fast track, the 5-year-old brown mare stopped the timer in 16.718 seconds while earning a 95-speed index under jockey Rene Hernandez. No wind was recorded during the race, which went off under cloudy skies at 81 degrees.

Bred in Louisiana by Mars Racing/Robicheaux Ranch Inc., Jes Winnin Cartel is a daughter of multiple stakes sire Five Bar Cartel out of Jes Winnin, by Mr Jess Perry.

Trained by Noe Sanchez III, she was purchased for $3,900 at the 2021 LQHBAY Sale and has proven to be a bargain acquisition for her connections. Saturday’s victory earned her the $30,000 winner’s share of the purse and added another stakes title to her résumé. A multiple stakes winner of eight races, she has earned $174,745 in 24 career starts.

All About Rogue, a 4-year-old filly by Heza Fast Rogue out of All About the Candy by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, rallied strongly under jockey Yaidel Rodriguez but had to settle for second, finishing three-quarters of a length behind the winner. Bred by Brock Broussard and owned by Leobersi Perez, the 2022 LQHBAY Sale graduate, purchased for $17,000, is trained by Lazaro Cribeiro and collected $10,000 for her runner-up effort. As a stakes winner, she has earned nearly $100,000.

Iveseenwhatyoucando, a 4-year-old sorrel filly by champion Open Me A Corona out of Blues Cartel by Jess Louisiana Blue, finished third after a determined drive under jockey Leonardo Rodriguez. Bred by Daniel R. Trahan and owned by Lucky Aces Racing, the 2023 Heritage Place Winter Mixed graduate, purchased for $18,000, is trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr. and picked up $5,500 for the show spot, finishing just a half-length behind the runner-up. She has earned $74,085.

Pari-mutuel payoffs for the race were Jes Winnin Cartel ($26.20 to win, $14.40 to place, and $7.80 to show), All About Rogue ($15.00 to place and $8.00 to show), and Iveseenwhatyoucando ($5.00 to show). The $1 exacta returned $108.80, the $0.50 trifecta paid $396.35, and the $0.10 superfecta was worth $362.09.

Rounding out the order of finish were Corona Blue Estrella in fourth, followed by Gigi de Carmen in fifth, Jess B Sizzlin in sixth, Ajs Louisiana Chick in seventh, Patty Wagon Train in eighth, and Rf Fast Dash N Train in ninth.
