AJAX, ONT–JULY 16, 2025–Brian Bell is three for three on Wednesday’s race card at Ajax Downs after winning the $37,515 (U.S.) Ontario Bred Futurity aboard Snow Fun N Fancy.

Snow Fun N Fancy was last out of the gates after a fumbled start but regained her composure to draw away late at the final stretch, winning by a half-length over Alabama Moonshine. The daughter of Pyc Fun N Fancy claimed the 300-yard victory in 15.980 seconds.

“She’s never done anything wrong in the gate, it’s just a crap shoot for two-year-olds, especially first-time starters going into a stakes race,” said Bell.

Bell had both Snow Fun N Fancy and Agent Ice at his farm as yearlings. “I had the privilege of breaking this one (Snow Fun N Fancy) and Agent Ice at my farm last winter. They are both amazing horses. I just told Jason that I really like the gray filly. She’s sired by one of my favorite stallions, Pyc Fun N Fancy. I love that sire. I’ve been eyeing her since I started breaking her,” Bell commented.

“She worked with Agent Ice. They would go back and forth on their works. She would outwork him one day, and then he would come back out on top. There’s nothing wrong with him; he likes a little bit of distance. I was really hoping for 250 yards rather than 300. I thought they might catch me at the wire, but she prevailed and kept on running,” Bell continued

Leading trainer Jason Pascoe saddled Pyc Fun N Fancy for owner/breeder Milena Kwiecien. She is out of the Chicks Beduino mare Taxing Queen Creek and earned $19,238 for the win.

Ridden by Ramiro Sanchez, Alabama Moonshine placed second in her first career start. Bred and owned by Marie Broadstock, who is out of Ms Dashin Corona by Coronas Leaving You. Bob Boradstock trains the Ontario-bred filly sired by Look At Magics Form.

Cristian Benitez piloted Especially Tempting to her third-place finish. Trained by Scott Reid, he also bred the daughter of Makin An Effort out of Tempting First Dash by Shining First Dash. She is owned by John Wilson.

Pyc Fun N Fancy’s stablemate Agent Ice broke inward at the start under jockey J. B. Botello and placed last in the field of four. Pascoe trains the son of Cold Hard Dash for owner Amelie Aubut. Guylaine Paquin bred the bay gelding out of Stolin Ivory by Ivory James.
