Cinderella Snapped Breaks Her Maiden In Her First Out in The Prize Classic

MEXICO CITY, MEX–APRIL 27, 2025–The 25th annual The Prize Classic for two-year-olds at the Hipodromo de las Americas on Sunday was determined in a photo finish by a nose. Cinderella Snapped won the nod over Dark Water Bay in the $28,400 final.

Jockey Alejandro Gomez piloted Cinderella Snapped to her 300-yard victory in :15.80 seconds. The daughter of Kvn Corona broke her maiden with her debut start, and the winning effort paid $2.20.

Cinderella Snapped earned $14,200 from the victory payday for owner Cuadra Cartas Blancas. Trainer Jorge Ruiz conditions the Royce Rogers bred filly out of Vee Six by Tres Seis.

H. Camacho rode runner-up Dark Water Bay for trainer Antonio Garcia. Mike Vaughan bred the son of Mr Jess Perry. The $77,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate is out of the Corona Cartel mare Aqua Girl. Dark Water Bay earned $7,100 for place for owner Cuadra Alpuyeca.

Rg Naughty Angel, the only horse in the race with an official out, placed third. Trainer Marlon Quezada saddled the son of champion sire Favorite Cartel for owner Rancho Las Gaviotas. Bobby D. Cox bred Rg Naughty Angel in Mexico out of the Mr Jess Perry mare All About Perri.

Bolt Thru My Heart, Rg Divine Reason, Dashing Bureaucracy, Wind River, Blue On The Run, and Texas Chiltepin round out the order of finish.
