KINDER, LA–AUGUST 1, 2025–After fillies took the top spots on opening day, colts were the top three high-sellers on Saturday's closing session of the 49th Annual LQHBA Yearling Sale in Kinder.

LQHBA reported that 415 of the 497 yearlings sold this year grossed $7,015,700, slightly lower than the $7,172,900 last year. The two-day average hit $16,905, and the median was $11,000.

“Strong interest in Louisiana-bred yearlings drove higher averages on Day 2," Misty Coats, LQHBA assistant Executive Director, said Saturday evening. "Consignors had an active marketplace for quality yearlings. We are excited to see these yearlings compete next year."

Jerry Deville Jr. signed the $122,000 ticket for the high-seller, Hip 274 Purple N Gold Blood, a colt by champion Apollitical Blood from the Tres Seis mare Tres Of Jess. Robicheaux Ranch Inc., Agent, consigned the half-brother to 2025 TQHA Sire's Cup Futurity(RG2) fastest qualifier, The Lion Kingg. The second dam is a champion filly, and the third dam is an AQHA Dam of Distinction.

Robicheaux Ranch Inc., Agent, also consigned Saturday's second high-seller, Hip #422 Bigg Tymer. Rancho La Cobra paid $82,000 for the Apollitical Blood colt out of Tf Dashin Ms Perry by Runaway Dash. This is the family of Grade 1 winner Tf Im That Guy and champion Deelish.

Daniel Miranda paid $80,000 for Saturday's third high-seller, Hip 390 Tren Politico, a colt by world champion sire Freighttrain B. Tate Farms LLC, Agent, consigned this first foal out of the Apollitical Blood mare Polittcking. This is the family of Vessels Ranch foundation mare Fishers Favorite.

Tying for third high-seller on Saturday was Hip 262 Only Ruse, a Freighttrain B filly consigned by Tate Farms, Agent. Red Sea Racing LLC purchased the sister to Rerama Park Derby winner Miracle B Knockout. She is out of the stakes-placed Apollitical Jess mare The Only Knockout, a sister to champion As And Js.

Jerry Deville, Jr. was the sale's leading buyer with nine purchases for $483,000. Rancho La Cobra signed six tickets for $220,000, and Jaime Cardenas paid $187,000 for four yearlings.

Robicheaux Ranch Inc., Agent, was the leading consignor or agent by gross with 37 head for $952,000. Grant Farms, LLC, sold 27 head for $631,500, and Tate Farms LLC, Agent, sold 43 yearlings for $588,200.

Apollitical Blood was the leading sale sire by average (two or more sold) with 21 yearlings averaging $43,952. Freighttrain B had 41 for $31,366, and Ivory James sold 29 for $25,328. Inspyre was the leading first-year sale-crop sire with 6 for $12,083.
