KINDER, LA—AUGUST 2, 2025—A pair of fillies by champion sire Apollitical Blood topped the 49th annual LQHBA Louisiana-Bred Yearling Sale opening session held Friday in Kinder, Louisiana.

The day's second-highest price came from Hip 171, Hold On Tight, also a filly by Apollitical Blood. Consigned by Robicheaux Ranch Inc., Agent, she brought a final bid of $60,000 from Francisco Urteaga. Out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Runawa Renee, Hold On Tight hails from a strong female family with multiple stakes winners such as Priceless Feature, Uptown Dynasty, and Uptowne Babe.
The highest-selling colt of the session was Hip 230, Patriota Man, a son of second-crop sire Kj Mucho Macho Man, who Rancho La Cobra purchased for $57,000. Consigned by Bielau Oaks, Agent, the colt is the first foal from KK Sandra Patriot, winner of the Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2), and the second dam, Sandra Sue Blue, also won that same futurity. Patriota Man’s pedigree includes stakes winners Mr Game, Redneck Patriot, and Patriots Redneck.
