OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–April 15, 2026—On the Saturday night card at Remington Park, twelve races are scheduled, with nine restricted to Oklahoma-breds, setting the stage for a powerful evening honoring the state’s elite bloodlines.
The stakes-filled program features the G2 $50,000 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes, the RG3 $75,000 Laico Bird Stakes, the G2 $75,000 Easy Date Stakes, the RG3 $75,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes, the $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Stakes, the RG1 $100,000 Dee Raper Sooner State Stakes, the RG3 $182,720 Remington Park Oaks, the RG1 $217,910 Remington Park Derby, and the headline event, the RG1 $971,955 Remington Park Futurity. The night carries strong meaning for breeders, owners, trainers, and jockeys dedicated to the Oklahoma-bred program.
The fourth race kicks off the stakes action in the G2 $50,000 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes at 300 yards, scheduled for approximately 7:21 PM. A field of eight Oklahoma-Bred runners aged three and upward will line up in a competitive opening feature.
Cardiac Cowboy is the 2-1 morning-line favorite following a strong closing effort in the G2 Mighty Deck Stakes on opening weekend. The five-year-old gelding has been a consistent presence in stakes company, highlighted by a victory in last year’s G3 Two Rivers Stakes. His three-year-old season included efforts in the Altoona Derby and the G3 Valley Junction Futurity, and he enters with earnings of $412,556 for owners Tom and Lou Ann Smith and Amber Olmstead.
Sired by Flying Cowboy 123 and out of Southard Cartel, by Carters Cartel, he was bred in Oklahoma by Jo Rice. Trainer Jason L. Olmstead will saddle him from post two with Armando Alvidrez retaining the mount.
Race five features the RG3 $75,000 Laico Bird Stakes at 350 yards for Oklahoma-Bred two-year-olds.
Gipsie Rose, a Dunn Ranch homebred filly, enters as the 3-1 morning-line favorite. Undefeated in two starts, she broke her maiden on March 19 and followed with a determined neck victory in the Remington Park Futurity trials despite encountering trouble that impacted her qualifying time.
By In Hott Pursuit and out of America’s Dynasty, by FDD Dynasty, she is a half-sister to Remington Park Oaks qualifier Dr America’s Dynasty. Trainer Jed Vane sends her from post eight with leading rider Juan Pulido aboard.
The G2 $75,000 Easy Date Stakes goes as race six, featuring Oklahoma-Bred fillies and mares three-years-old and upward at 350 yards.
Apollirevenge enters undefeated at 5-2 morning-line odds, making her seasonal debut following a perfect two-year-old campaign. The filly etched her name into the record books with a dead-heat victory in the G1 $1,161,000 Heritage Place Futurity and looks to use this race as a stepping stone toward the Heritage Place Oaks.
Sired by A Revenant and out of Apollititaka, by Apollitical Jess, she was bred in Oklahoma by Rancho El Cabresto, Inc. and purchased by Dunn Ranch for $48,000 at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Trainer Jed Vane will saddle her from post seven with Jesus R. Ayala aboard.
Race seven is the RG3 $75,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes, set for 350 yards and featuring ten Oklahoma-Bred three-year-olds.
Jess a Good Angel is the 5-2 morning-line favorite, bringing a solid résumé with three wins from eight starts. The colt has competed at the highest level, qualifying for both the RG3 Black Gold Colts and Geldings Futurity and the G1 Heritage Place Futurity, earning $196,220.
Sired by Jess Good Candy and out of Sin Tachas Angel, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, he was bred in Oklahoma by trainer Leonardo Alcala and races for owner Angelica Brizuela. He will break from post three with Juan Pulido aboard.
The eighth race features the $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Stakes, showcasing the second division of top Oklahoma-Bred juveniles who qualified through the 330-yard trials on April 2 and 3.
D Amor leads the field as the 5-2 morning-line favorite after securing the fastest qualifying time on day two with a narrow nose victory. The gelding also broke his maiden on March 12, leading into the trials.
By Uncle D and out of Ladys Dynasty, by FDD Dynasty, he was bred in Oklahoma by Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, LLC, and races for Robyn Gordon and Greg S. Johnston, who purchased him for $40,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Trainer Kasey Willis will send him from post five with Gonzalo Gutierrez aboard.
Race nine features the RG1 $100,000 Dee Raper Sooner State Stakes at 400 yards, bringing together a strong group of Oklahoma-Bred runners aged three and upward.
The 2022 AQHA World Champion Empressum is the 5-2 morning-line favorite. The eight-year-old gelding boasts an exceptional career with 25 wins and earnings of $2,537,748. His recent campaign included three runner-up finishes, while his last victory came in the G1 Champion of Champions.
Owned by Jeff Jones and Steve Holt, Empressum is sired by Apollitical Jess and out of Crazy Down Corona, by First Down Dash. Trainer Fernando Ivan Manriquez will saddle him from post two with Rodrigo S. Vallejo aboard.
With stakes action beginning in race four and building through a series of graded events, the Saturday night program at Remington Park promises a deep and competitive showcase of Oklahoma-bred talent. The evening builds toward the RG1 Remington Park Futurity, highlighting the strength and pride of the state’s breeding program under the lights.
