Retama Parks Hosts It’s Final Round of Schooling Races On April First – ENTRIES AVAILABLE ONLINE

By Leann Noguera, StallioneSearch

SELMA, TX—MARCH 28, 2026—Retama Park is set to conduct another session of schooling races on April 1, offering horsemen a final look at their young stock ahead of the upcoming 2026 Quarter Horse season.

A total of 61 juveniles have been entered across 10 races, all to be run at 250 yards under non-pari-mutuel conditions. These schooling events serve as an early proving ground, giving two-year-olds valuable gate experience and a foundation under race-like circumstances before they begin official competition.

Two of the early juveniles are by the current leading sire of two-year-old money earners, Kiss My Hocks—Kyss Thyss, owned by Tyler and Naia Graham, and Jp Tres Cartel, owned by H & R Roofing.

Kyss Thyss is one of only two juveniles on the card to bring six figures at last year’s yearling sales. Consigned by South Fork Equine, LLC, she was purchased by the Grahams for $110,000. She is out of Senorita Sweetness, a daughter of One Famous Eagle. The mare is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Hes Limitless, and the second dam is champion Pj Chick In Black.

Kyss Thyss will break from post four in Race 4 with Christian Ramos aboard for trainer Marc Jungers.

The other Kiss My Hocks runner, Jp Tres Cartel, drew the rail in Race 3. He will be ridden by Jose Herbert for trainer Jesus Huitron Lira. The gelding is out of Jp Jess Cartel, a son of Corona Cartel, and was an RNA at $36,000 at the TQHA Yearling Sale.

Troffee, the other six-figure graduate from last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, was purchased for $100,000. The daughter of Pyc Paint Your Wagon will start from post five in Race 9 with Luis Vivanco up for owner Hector Reina and trainer Robert Touchet.

Bred by HK Performance Horses, Troffee is out of the Tres Seis mare Tripled Effort. She is a half-sister to multiple black-type runners, including Seis No More and Tuffazznailz. The second dam is champion Tiny First Effort.

Several other sires are represented by multiple runners, led by Freighttrain B with four—County Time, Goldwynn, Ojd Shez All Freight, and Only Ruse.

Mental Error (Bigg Mistake, Patrick Jane, Til We Run Outofroad) and Rc Me Leaving You (Blues Leavingyou, Leaving You Cambria, Ss Delightful Queen) each have three.

Other sires with two runners include Chilitos (Chilita Especial, The Resurection Mv), Cyber Monday (Ojd Quantum Trot, Shiner Orale), FDD Dynasty (Shez A Smokeshoww, The Partner), In Hott Pursuit (Poppin Pursuit, Regalo 19), Pyc Prize Time (Ms Marlene Beauxis, Well Balanced Time), San Lorenzo (Lorenzita, Saint Tequila), and This Is An Eagle (Adieu, In Eagles Arms).
