EVANSTON, WY–JULY 18, 2026–Jess No Secrets rallied in the final strides to win the $63,674 Q-Racing Video Wyoming Downs Distance Challenge on July 18 at Wyoming Downs. Ridden by Jacob Cardenas, the homebred gelding races for owner and breeder Ross Alire and is trained by Rick Scudder. The son of No Secrets Here out of the Feature Mr Jess mare Jess Breeze covered the 870 yards in :45.447, earning a 96 speed index.
The $30,564 winner's share of the purse increased his bankroll to $123,425 while improving his career record to 10 wins, one second, and seven thirds from 27 starts. Jess No Secrets entered the Challenge Championship qualifier off a finalist effort in the Leo Beau Dash Stakes and added another distance stakes victory to a record that already included wins in the Wyoming Downs Distance Challenge and the Rocky Mountain Championship Stakes.
Winning connections of Jess No Secrets. © Coady MediaY O Zoomin Ollie set the pace before finishing second under Nakia Teeter for owner Mike Harrigfeld and trainer Travis Lusk. Bred by Gerald Kaul, the gelding is by Fiftyshadezofgrey and out of the Azoom mare Zoomin Daphne.
He stopped the clock in :45.509 while also earning a 96 speed index. The runner-up effort boosted his career record to three wins, five seconds, and four thirds from 21 starts with earnings of $43,970. He was runner-up in last year's Sandia Stakes and finished third in the 2025 Wyoming Downs Distance Challenge.
Second-fastest qualifier Cartel Can Fly closed strongly to finish third under Dakota Wood for owner and breeder David Wisdom and trainer Robert Don Johnson. The homebred gelding, who was repurchased for $40,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale, is by champion sire Favorite Cartel and out of the Foose mare Babe Can Fly.
He completed the 870 yards in :45.706 for a 93 speed index. Cartel Can Fly now owns a record of five wins, one second, and four thirds from 14 starts with earnings of $48,888. He entered the race off a victory in the United Tote Hook Overnight Stakes and was third in last year's Grade 3 Covered Bridges Stakes.
Fastest qualifier Marfason finished fourth and was followed by Katies Boy Joe, Docs Game Player, Kiddin You, and Into The Lite.
