Shaundas Eagle Elevated To Victory In $58,152 AQHA Emerald Downs Championship Challenge

ALBURN, WA—AUGUST 16, 2025—Shaundas Eagle was elevated to first via disqualification to capture the $58,152 AQHA Emerald Downs Championship Challenge at 440 yards, also earning him a berth to the Grade 1 $350,000-est. AQHA Challenge Championship on October 18 at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Breaking well under jockey Sergio Dominguez, the 5-year-old gelding by One Fabulous Eagle out of First Prize Shaunda by Pyc Paint Your Wagon was moved up after the stewards disqualified A Famous Ribbon from first to ninth for interference in the stretch.

Shaundas Eagle, bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley and purchased for $15,000 at the 2021 Heritage Place Yearling Sale, is owned by Kent H. and Linda H. Jones is trained by Daren Jones.

He stopped the clock in 22.320 seconds, with a 2-mph tailwind on a fast track. The victory, worth $26,752 boosted his bankroll to $55,658 off four wins in 19 starts. This was the first career stakes win Shaundas Eagle.

Radar, a 6-year-old gelding by A Revenant out of Snow In My Corona by Snowbound (TB), finished second after a steady rally. Bred in Idaho by Lee Rodgers or Raymond McGee, Radar is owned by Vincente Treyes, trained by Martin Vega, and ridden by Brayan Juarez.

He earned $11,631 for his runner-up effort , increasing his earnings to $56,163.

Look James, a 5-year-old gelding by Ivory James out of Righteous Look by Righteous Brother, closed well to finish third. Bred in Utah by Carolyn and Jose Adrian Aleman, Look James races for Adrian Aleman, is trained by Jorge Paredes, and was ridden by Jose Espinoza. He banked $5,815 for the effort.

Pari-mutuel payoffs returned $22.92 to win, $8.52 to place, and $6.52 to show on Shaundas Eagle. Radar paid $26.94 to place and $13.32 to show, while Look James returned $4.00 to show.

Also-rans were Snobird, Five Bars Blazin, Da Bros Cartel, B the One (DH), Dc Ladys Dashn Eagle (DH), and Jesstafiably Jess, with A Famous Ribbon disqualified and placed ninth.
