MEXICO CITY, MX–JUNE 1, 2025–Two trial heats were contested Sunday afternoon at the Hipódromo de las Américas to determine the field for the $30,000-added John Deere Hipódromo de las Américas Juvenile Challenge, and it was One Famous Temptaton who topped all qualifiers with a commanding performance.

One Famous Temptaton stopped the clock in 17.599 seconds, posting an 82 speed index with a surprise wire-to-wire victory. The son of Tempting Dash defeated CCB Rich Ranch Boy and the morning-line favorite Dark Water Bay by daylight. He was listed 11-1 on early odds, and the 350-yard upset paid $8.65 to win.

Before tonight, One Famous Temptaton had one official out: a third-place finish from his maiden start. Owned by Los Chivos and trained by Ramon Guerrero, he was piloted by Jesus Loredo down the middle from post six.

Bred by Johnny Trotter, the $45,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate is out of One Famous Ermana by Mr Jess Perry. The win marked a strong statement heading into the June 22 final.

The second-fastest time of the day came from RG Naughty Angel, under Alejandro Gomez Lopez's guidance, in the night's first trial. The son of Favorite cartel posted a time of 17.730, defeating Built For The Lion by 3/4-length.

Bred by Bobby D. Cox, RG Naughty Angel is out of All About Perri, by Mr Jess Perry, and conditioned by Marlon Quezada for Rancho Las Gaviotas. He has a record of 1-1-1 from four starts, including a third-place finish in The Prize Classic earlier this season.

Third fastest qualifier CCB Rich Ranch Boy, ridden by Huberclein Gomez, clocked 17.747 for owner Cartas Blancas. Bred by Double Bar S Ranch, LLC, the $30,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate is out of Budder Than Ever, by Strawflyin Buds. Jorge Ruiz Periban trains the son of leading sire Corona Cartel.

The top qualifiers from each trial will return for the June 22 final, where they will compete not only for the $30,000-added purse but for a berth in the John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) later this year at The Downs at Albuquerque..
