OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–JANUARY 2026– The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association (OQHRA) reminds breeders that its 2026 Stallion Service Auction is currently underway and will close Friday, January 23, 2026, at noon (CST).

The annual stallion service auction serves as OQHRA’s primary fundraiser, with stallion owners generously donating breedings to support the association’s programs. Proceeds from the auction help fund initiatives including scholarships, lobbying efforts, and promotional activities designed to grow Quarter Horse and mixed-breed racing opportunities in Oklahoma.

The auction opened December 12, 2025, with stallion services selling to the highest bidder. Bidding begins at one-half of the stallion’s advertised fee or the minimum set by the stallion owner, whichever is greater. To place a bid, participants must have a credit card on file. If bidding activity occurs within the final five minutes on a stallion, the auction for that stallion will automatically extend in five-minute increments until only one bidder remains.

All services are offered for the 2026 breeding season only and are sold with a limited live foal policy, unless otherwise noted. OQHRA will pay the chute fee on each breeding, excluding shipped semen where the chute fee is considered part of shipping costs. Successful bidders will be notified within 24 hours of the auction’s close, with credit card payments processed within 48 hours, including a 3% convenience fee. Buyers wishing to pay by check or cash must notify OQHRA within 24 hours and complete payment within seven days.

As an added incentive, any breeding that sells for more than $500 will receive a free OQHRA limited-edition jacket or vest. Stallion services that do not meet their minimum bid during the auction will be made available on a Buy It Now, first-come, first-served basis through March 15, 2026, at the minimum bid amount.
