BREAUX BRIDGE, LA–SEPTEMBER 15, 2025–Robicheaux Ranch is proud to announce that they will manage Tempting Dash’s frozen semen for the 2026 breeding season. His fee will be set at $5,000 (ICSI only) with a $700 booking fee.
Tempting Dash remains a Texas Accredited Stallion, and his foals will continue to be eligible for the Texas-Bred accreditation program, adding long-term value for breeders across the region.
“We are so excited to manage Tempting Dash here at Robicheaux Ranch,” said ranch manager Ryan Robicheaux. “It’s an honor for us.”
Tempting Dash was bred in California by Muller Ranch LLC and sold for $21,500 as a yearling in the 2008 Schvaneveldt Sale. He is a son of the legendary First Down Dash and out of the Chicks Beduino mare A Tempting Chick, who was a multiple stakes-placed winner and earned Broodmare of the Year honors.
He is a full brother to three-time Grade 1 winner A Tempting Dash, an earner of $541,959. His second dam, Tempt Me Not, by Sir Alibi, was a multiple stakes winner and black-type producer.

A Stellar Race Career
Tempting Dash proved himself early, going undefeated in four starts as a 2-year-old during 2009. His victories included the Texas Classic Futurity (G1) and the Dash For Cash Futurity (G1).
He amassed career earnings of $673,970 and set a new track record in the Texas Classic Futurity with a 112 speed index, a mark that stood until 2024. For his efforts, he was honored as the 2009 AQHA Champion Two-Year-Old.
Record Sale and Stud Career
Following his retirement from the track, Tempting Dash entered stud duty at Southwest Stallion Station in Elgin, Texas. His first crop of 2-year-olds was led by two-time champion Kiss My Hocks. From 55 starters in 2014, he sired 26 winners, including four stakes winners, with earnings totaling $1.75 million.
Before his first foals even reached the racetrack, Tempting Dash made headlines when John Simmons purchased him for a record $1.7 million at the 2013 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale in Oklahoma City. This sale price remains as one of the highest prices ever for a race-bred Quarter Horse at auction.
“I want to personally thank Mr. John Simmons for entrusting us with the next chapter of Tempting Dash’s stallion career,” Robicheaux said. “I still remember when he purchased him—it seemed like such a large investment at the time, but it has truly paid off in every way.”
After the purchase, Tempting Dash stood the remainder of his career at Granada Farms in Wheelock, Texas, where he was syndicated by Simmons. He continued to make an enduring impact on the breed until his passing in 2022. Even after his death, his influence continued through the availability of frozen semen.
As the previous Granada Farms manager, Jimmy Eller, reflected, "A once-in-a-lifetime kind of horse, that was Tempting Dash.”

A Leading Sire
To date, Tempting Dash has sired 456 winners, 50 stakes winners, and 54 stakes-placed runners, with total progeny earnings of more than $22.4 million and $30,500 average earnings per starter.
His leading graded stakes performers include the aforementioned two-time champion Kiss My Hocks SI 109 ($1,199,385, 1st Rainbow Derby-G1, 1st Ruidoso Futurity-G1, 1st Sam Houston Futurity-G2, 2nd Rainbow Futurity-G1), Dashing Tres SI 104 ($1,040,765, 1st All American Derby-G1, 1st Rainbow Derby-G1, 3rd Ruidoso Derby-G1), Aint She Tempting SI 97 ($727,427, 1st Oklahoma Futurity-G2, 1st Golden State Derby-G2, 2nd Golden State Million Futurity-G1, 2nd Heritage Place Futurity-G1), Hotsempting SI 99 ($682,793, 1st Ruidoso Quarter Horse Derby-G1, 2nd Rainbow Quarter Horse Derby-G1), Lovethewayyoulie SI 96 ($456,472, 1st Heritage Place Futurity-G1, 2nd Sam Houston Juvenile S.), Getther Fast SI 106 ($441,919, 1st James Isaac Hobbs S.-G2, 2nd Ruidoso Futurity-G1, 3rd Rainbow Futurity-G1, 3rd Refrigerator Championship S.-G1), and Aguila Rapida SI 104 ($439,594, 1st All American Juvenile S., 2nd Ruidoso Futurity-G1, 3rd Rainbow Futurity-G1).
These runners, among many others, solidify Tempting Dash’s reputation as one of the leading sires of his generation.
Looking Ahead
“We want to thank Jimmy Eller and the Granada team for the tremendous job they’ve done managing him over the years,” Robicheaux concluded.
That legacy continues today with Robicheaux Ranch taking the lead in managing his frozen semen program. With his pedigree, racing record, and proven sire power, Tempting Dash remains one of the most valuable breeding options in Quarter Horse racing.
