SELMA, TX–JULY 14, 2026—Camels, ostriches and zebras return to Retama Park July 16-18 for three days of live racing, family entertainment and one of the track's most popular annual attractions.

The three-day event combines live Quarter Horse racing with exhibition races featuring the exotic animals, along with meet-and-greet opportunities, live music and family-friendly entertainment.

The festivities begin Thursday, July 16, with a Camel and Ostrich Meet & Greet before the races. Military members and first responders will receive free admission with a valid ID.

Friday's program features live music by the Bill Ayers Band before racing. Gates open at 5 p.m., with a 6:45 p.m. first post. Camel, ostrich and zebra races will be held following the third, fifth and seventh horse races. There is no wagering on the exhibition races. General admission is $10.

Fans will have the opportunity to get up close with the animals, take photos and enjoy one of Retama Park's signature attractions.

For those looking to enhance the evening, Retama Park will offer its Terrace Dining Buffet overlooking the track for $50 per person.

The event concludes Saturday, July 18, with another evening of live Quarter Horse racing and exotic animal exhibitions.
