Texas Classic Nominations Due January 15

Texas Classic Nominations Due January 15

ELGIN, TX–JANUARY 6, 2026–Nominations for the 2026 Texas Classic Futurity (G1), Texas Classic Derby (G1), and Purina Feeds Texas Classic Oaks (G2) are due January 15, 2026, through the Texas Quarter Horse Association.

The Texas Classic Futurity (G1) will be contested at 400 yards for AQHA-registered foals of 2024, carrying an estimated $1 million, plus an estimated $50,000 juvenile purse. Trials are scheduled for October 29–30, 2026, with the final set for November 21, 2026, at Lone Star Park .

The Texas Classic Derby (G1) will be run at 440 yards for AQHA-registered foals of 2023, offering an estimated $350,000 purse. Derby trials are slated for October 31, 2026, with the final also on November 21, 2026, at Lone Star Park.

The Purina Feeds Texas Classic Oaks (G2) will cover 400 yards and is restricted to AQHA three-year-old fillies of 2023, competing for an estimated $200,000 purse. Oaks trials will be held October 31, 2026, with the final on November 21, 2026, at Lone Star Park.

The nomination fee is $200 per horse, per race, and nominations must be accompanied by a completed and signed nomination blank. Nomination forms are available at www.tqha.com/racing.

Owners wishing to submit nominations by email and pay via credit card may complete the credit card section on the nomination form and email it to ssherwood@tqha.com. Separate payments are required for each race.
