OGALLALA , NE—DECEMBER 20, 2025—Quarter Horse racing is slated to return to Lake Mac Racetrack in Ogallala on July 10-11 and July 17-18, 2026, with average purses of $20,000, plus Nebraska-bred incentives and added money.

The newly completed facility launched its Quarter Horse program last summer, hosting its first-ever meet on August 19, 2025. The historic three-race card featured purses topping $20,000 each, along with an opening ceremony, special guests, and regional dignitaries in attendance to mark the occasion.

Located just south of Lake McConaughy off Interstate 80, Lake Mac Racetrack is part of a new resort complex built to attract horsemen, jockeys, and fans from across the Midwest. The venue offers modern racing amenities for participants and spectators, with on-site casino gaming, dining, and lodging available at the Lake Mac Casino Resort.
