GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—OCTOBER 11, 2025—Lone Star Park officials announced the cancellation of all races scheduled for Saturday evening due to a significant technical failure with the track's lighting system.

Track management cited the safety of horses, riders, and staff as the top priority when canceling. The canceled program included the Karen Utecht Memorial Stakes, which had been slated as Race 6 of 12 on the evening card.

"Due to a major technical issue with the track's lighting system, management has decided to cancel the races for today," the track said in a statement released to horsemen.

The races will be redistributed to the Thursday and Friday cards throughout the remainder of the meet to make up for the lost programs from Friday and Saturday.

"We apologize for this inconvenience," the statement continued. "We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we address the issue."
