OGALLALA, NE—AUGUST 19, 2025—Stallionesearch.com provided recap coverage of the inaugural one-day Quarter Horse meet at the brand-new Lake Mac Casino-Resort-Racetrack in Ogallala, Nebraska, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
With competitive fields and strong wagering figures, the debut meet at Lake Mac established itself as a promising new venue for Quarter Horse racing in Nebraska. Horsemen and fans alike praised the state-of-the-art facility and its quick, consistent racing surface, laying the foundation for a bright future at Ogallala’s newest racing destination.
Stallionesearch was on-site to capture both the action and atmosphere of the three-race program. Horsemen from Oklahoma, Kansas, Indiana, and Iowa joined the card, which featured purses of more than $20,000 per race.
The opening event set the tone for the afternoon as Dear Dash fended off a late charge from Mollys Fury to capture Race 1, a $20,000, 250-yard dash for Nebraska-bred maiden fillies and mares, three-years-old and up.
In Race 2, a 350-yard allowance for three-year-olds and older that had never won two races, Gray Valiant delivered the day’s biggest surprise. Surging late, he stopped the clock in 20.011 seconds to upset the field.
The afternoon closed with a thrilling finish in the final race of the inaugural meet. Nay Borhood Nipsey rallied strongly to capture the $18,000 purse in the 350-yard contest for three-year-olds and older.
