Nominations for the 2023 West Texas Derby (G3) are due Tuesday, November 15.

SUNLAND PARK, NM—NOVEMBER 3, 2022—Nominations for the 2023 $65,000-added West Texas Derby (G3) are due Tuesday, November 15th.

Open to Quarter Horse foals of 2020, the West Texas Derby trials will be contested on Saturday, February 4th and the 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Sunland Park to compete in the 400-yard final on Saturday, February 25th, 2023.  Trial purses are estimated to be $8,900 each.

The 2023 West Texas Derby Payment Schedule:

• $600 on or before November 15, 2022
• $3,000 to supplement by December 15, 2022
• $800 to enter trials (refer to Sunland Park 2023 condition book
    for date)
• Supplemental nominations will be accepted by December 15,
    2022 by  payment of $3,000 plus remaining trial fee OR by
    payment of $6,000  at time of entry to trials (includes all fees)
