OQHRA issued a warning to horsemen today.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–JUNE 14, 2022–The Oklahoama Quarter Horse Racing Association issued the following warning to horsemen today.

There is a supplement called "Tenda" by Fast Finish that is a direct violation of the OHRC rules if administered per the directions, which state: “Give one 60cc syringe, orally 2 to 3 hours prior to event.”

This supplement contains Sodium Bicarbonate which is a violation of OAC 325:45-1-27. Prohibited practices (7).

The administration, within 24 hours prior to the scheduled post time for the first race on the day the horse is entered to race, of an alkalizing substance that can alter the pH of serum or plasma, concentration of bicarbonates, or total dissolved carbon dioxide in a horse.
