SHAKOPEE, MN—JULY 4, 2017—The Fiscal Cliff and jockey Benito Baca won the $60,840 Bank of America Canterbury Park Championship Challenge by 1-¼ lengths on Tuesday at Canterbury Park.
The 4-year-old Quarter Horse colt added $29,203 to his bankroll today and has now won 12 of 19 races and $387,321 in purse money. He is trained by Kasey Willis and is owned by Thomas Lepic of Iowa City, Iowa.
Family and friends join winning owner/breeder Tom Lepic, jockey Benito Baca, trainer Kasey Willis in the Bank of America Canterbury Park Challenge Championship winners' circle Tuesday afternoon.

"Tom[Lepic] and I have made great decisions to put him where he can dominate,
Willis said, "and we did it again."
A homebred for Lepic, The Fiscal Cliff returned $2.60 as the prohibitive favorite. He is out of the Shazoom mare Signs Zoomer.
Multiple stakes-placed Okeyfreight earned $12,472 for second. Robert Don Johnson saddled the South Dakota homebred for owner/breeder Dean Lemburg. Jorge Torres rode the Freighttrain B 4-year-old out of Okey Dokey Eyes, by Okey Dokey Dale.

Eagles Span, Hastabealeader, Watch My Wallet, Dash For Number One and Fast N Famous Jeans completed the field.
Canterbury Park’s 67-day live mixed-breed meet runs May 5 through Sept. 16. The quarter horse season begins May 27 and runs through the Minnesota Festival of Champions Aug. 20. Additional information is available at canterburypark.com.
