First-Crop Sire This Is An Eagle Gets First Stakes Winner

WHEELOCK, TX–MARCH 20, 2022–Grade 2 winner and first-crop sire This Is An Eagle got his first stakes winner Saturday night when Teller Ima Eagle won the $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile Invitational at Remington Park.

Under jockey Cody Wainscott, Teller Ima Eagle completed the 300 yards in :15.558 seconds, defeating Reef Ridge by three0quarters. Racing for owner Guerras Racing Stables and trained by Troy Carter the 2-year-old gelding earned $20,000 for this effort.

Owned by Mary Lynn Thompson, This Is An Eagle won or placed in eight of 12 career starts winning the Sam Houston Futurity(G2) and finishing third in the Texas Classic Futurity. He earned $316,350.

 

The son of One Famous Eagle from the First Down Dash mare Lady Lila stands at Granada Farms in Wheelock, Texas for a fee of $1,000.
