Just En King Gate-To-Wire Namehimastreaker New Mexico Classic Cup Quarter Horse Championship Winner

HOBBS, NM—NOVEMBER 26, 2023–Just En King led gate-to-wire to score the biggest win of his career Sunday afternoon in the $200,000 restricted grade 1 Namehimastreaker New Mexico Classic Cup Quarter Horse Championship at Zia Park.

Under jockey Alfredo Sigala Just En King raced over the classic Quarter Horse distance of 440 yards in :21.314 seconds to earn a 109 speed index with a 5 mph tailwind. It was the fourth career win in 11 starts for the son of leading second-crop sire Eye Am King. The winner's purse valued at $115,200 brought his lifetime earnings total to $257,573.

Conditioned by trainer Omar Vargas, for owner-breeder Ronald Ulibarri, Just En King was second in the restricted Grade 3 New Mexico State Fair Derby three races back. He is bred from the Furyofhewind mare U R A Fury Lady.

Multiple stakes winner Big Crush Bb and Hs Paul Walker dead-heated for second, each taking home $38,400 for their efforts.

Big Crush Bb rallied under jockey Emilio to get the tie. Jose DeHerrera trains the Big Daddy Cartel 4-year-old for owner Javier Chavez. Ralph Vincent and Beverly Bourguet bred the gray colt from the One Famous Eagle mare Eagles First Down. Big Crush Bb has banked $281,260 in 21 career starts.

Trainer Armando Alamos named jockey Jacob Enriquez to ride Hs Paul Walker for owner-breeder Hubaldo Solis. The 7-year-old gelded son of multiple stakes sire Osbaldo is out of the Strawberryberryfast by Strawflyin Buds. He has earned $356,007.

Rc Corona King, River Flash, Sampson Says, Dean Miracles Vike, Jesses Dinero, Pap Grande Cartel and Reef Ridge completed the field.
