Drank Like Hank, under jockey Salvador Martinez, drives to victory in the $80,000 Grade 1 Texas Hero Futurity at Lone Star Park Friday night.

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–NOVEMBER 24, 2023–Coming off the fastest qualifying time in the November 3 trials, Drank Like Hank raced to this third consecutive win Friday night when he won the $80,000 Grade 1 Texas Hero Futurity at Lone Star Park.

Ridden by jockey Salvador Martinez, Drank Like Hank completed the 400 yards in :19.666 seconds, a 96 speed index, to take home the winner's purse valued at $29,239.

Trainer Matt Whitekiller saddled his second stakes winner on Friday's card for owner-breeders De Rare Racing LLC. Also by leading APHA sire Crm Livewire, Drank Like Hank's full brother, Hold My Beer, won the $12,500 Olympia Joe Stakes at Lone Star tonight.

Bred in Oklahoma, from the First Smart Money mare Irish Vendetta, Drank Like Hank has won four of nine career starts and earned $79,513. He also won the Pot O Gold Futurity at Will Rogers Downs October 2.

Wf Candy Tellin Tales was moved to second when Wire Tap was disqualified and placed eighth for interference in the stretch. Dee Keener trains Wf Candy Tellin Tales for owner Painted Faith Racing.

Keener and Steve Wright bred the Wagon Tales gelding in Oklahoma from the Country Chicks Man mare Sw Eye Candy.  The bay gelding earned $8,463 for his effort. Roman Cruz was up.

Railway Cafe, also trained by Keener and racing for owner Jay Ross was moved to third. Joleta Ingersoll bred the Freighttrain B filly in Oklahoma from the The Dashing Hero mare Mai Dashing Hero. Ridden by jockey Rolando Raudales, Railway Cafe earned $6,155.

Completing the official order of finish were Mighty Mocha, Vp Rocket Ryan, Wf Wiremememoney, Whiskey And Rain, Wire Tap and Little War Wagon. R Cowgirl was scratched.
