Chicks Dashin Bandit Scores Third Consecutive Win Of The Season In Overnight Mixed Breed Derby

MALAD CITY, ID–AUGUST 14, 2022–Chicks Dashin Bandit soars downs the lane for a wire-to-wire victory in the first of two Overnight Mixed Breed Derbys (not black type) on Sunday at Oneida County Fair. Due to inclement weather, the Oneida County Derby trials were cancelled on August 7, so to take care of all the horses who entered, two derbies were held.

With Oscar Villa in the saddle, Chicks Dashin Bandit broke from the gates in the lead and never looked back, crossing the wire 1 1/2-lengths ahead of Hotrod Harly. The post-time favorite clocked a 99 speed index in :15.371 seconds.

The 300-yard stakes race is the third consecutive win this season for Chicks Dashing Bandit. Conditioned by Ramiro Fregoso, the gelding son of Coronas Fast Dash has lit the board 10 of 11 starts with $27,550 in lifetime earnings.

Out of First Prize Chicks by Spit Curl Jess, Chicks Dashing Bandit is owned and bred by Five Livestock Company, LLC.

Trained by David Greene, Hotrod Harly and jockey Todd Thomas made a game effort for second in the Overnight Derby clocking a 92 speed index in :15.587 seconds. The Linford Ranch Horses homebred colt by Prime Talent is out of Feature Profit by Profit Increase.

Coming in third was Richie Rich 1 with Never Marin in the irons. Owned, trained and bred by Uriel Arreola, the son of Concorde’s Appeal has earned $17,422 in his career. His dam is Race To Riches by Bono Jazz.

The remaining order of finish is Lrh Mojo Kat in fourth and Momys Little Corona in fifth.
