ALTOONA, IA–JULY 4, 2026–The Monday evening card at Prairie Meadows features a 10-race program, with first post at 4:00 p.m. The featured event is the $163,690 Prairie Meadows Gold Derby Final, in which the ten fastest qualifiers from the June 21 trial heats return to race 350 yards. The talented group of 3-year-olds will compete in the fourth race at approximately 5:15 p.m.
Jess Want To Know has been installed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite after posting the fastest qualifying time in the trials. The filly surged to a three-quarter-length victory, securing the top spot for the final. Earlier this season, she qualified for the Grade 2 Heritage Place Oaks, where she encountered trouble after shifting lanes early and finished off the board. As a juvenile, she captured the 2025 Valley Junction Juvenile Stakes. She has won three of her career starts, earning $38,564.
Owned by Bradbury Racing and John Hammes, the Oklahoma-bred filly is by Jess Good Candy and out of the One Famous Eagle mare Who You Know. Hammes, who also bred and trains the filly, will send her from post five, with Miguel J. Ramirez aboard.
Atsi Monday is the 3-1 second choice on the morning line after winning her trial by a half-length with a strong late run. She entered the trials off a victory over allowance non-winners of three at Remington Park and has continued to develop into one of the division's top performers. Last season, she finished second in the Grade 3 Valley Junction Futurity. The filly has recorded four career victories and has earned $99,946.
Owned by Brenda Reiswig, the Oklahoma-bred daughter of Cyber Monday is out of the Valiant Hero mare Atsi Hero. Jason L. Olmstead trains the filly, who will break from post 10, the outside post, with Ramiro H. Garcia in the saddle.
The Prairie Meadows Gold Derby Final has assembled a competitive field of sophomore sprinters, featuring proven stakes performers and sharp trial winners throughout the field. With a strong purse on the line and little separating the finalists on paper, fans and bettors can expect an exciting 350-yard showdown to highlight the Monday evening program.
