TULSA, OK–JULY 1, 2026–The Friday night card at Fair Meadows wraps up the Speedhorse Futurity trials with a ten-race program featuring seven trial heats for the estimated Grade 3 $225,000 Speedhorse Futurity. Fifty-six 2-year-olds will compete over 350 yards in races two through eight, each aiming to post one of the ten fastest qualifying times to advance to the July 18 final.
The opening trial in race two features Whiskey Doc as the 5-2 morning-line favorite. The gelding has already established himself against top company in his young career. After winning his debut, he qualified for the Grade 2 Oklahoma Futurity, finished fourth, then added a third-place finish in the Grade 3 Laico Bird Stakes and a runner-up effort in the Grade 2 Easy Jet Stakes. He enters the trials with earnings of $67,131 and will be looking to post a qualifying time early in the evening.
The Oklahoma-bred gelding races for Dusty Rose Ranch, LLC. He is sired by Docs Dusty Cartel and out of the Tac It Like a Man mare Jls Tacitlikejohn. Bred in Oklahoma by his owners, Whiskey Doc is trained by Stacey L. Capps and will break from post five, with Cody R. Smith aboard.
Race five, the fourth trial heat, features D Molish as the 4-5 morning-line favorite. The gelding has made five career starts, highlighted by a qualification for the Grade 1 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity. After returning to win his maiden by an impressive 4½ lengths on May 17, he followed with a solid fourth-place finish, beaten by just three-quarters of a length in the Grade 2 Easy Jet Stakes. He enters Friday with career earnings of $70,543 for owners Shania, James, Tiffany, James, and Kyle Cox.
The son of Uncle D, out of the Shazoom mare Check It to Em Missy, was bred in Oklahoma by Jordan Wiggins. Samuel E. Valdivia conditions the gelding, who will leave from the rail with Bryan Candanosa in the saddle.
Cyber Storm 918 headlines race six, the fifth trial, as the 2-1 morning-line favorite. The gelding has won two of his three starts and enters the trials on a two-race winning streak. His latest victory came during Fair Meadows' opening weekend, when he drew away by two lengths in an allowance for non-winners of two, establishing himself as one of the leading contenders for Friday's program. He has earned $24,565 while racing for 918 Bloodstock.
Bred in Oklahoma by Jay Ross, DVM, Cyber Storm 918 is by Cyber Monday and out of the One Sweet Jess mare Kool Jess. Dee Keener trains the promising gelding, who will also break from the inside post, with Roman Cruz named to ride.
The stakes action continues after the trials conclude.
