GRANTS PASS, OR–JUNE 26, 2026–Sunday's program at Grants Pass features an eight-race card starting at 1:00 p.m., with the spotlight on the $18,100 Director's Handicap Stakes. A field of ten Quarter Horses, ages 3 and up, will line up for the 350-yard feature, one of the meet's most competitive races.

Bee A Freight Train has been installed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite after an impressive start to his 2026 campaign. The six-year-old opened his season with a decisive 1¼-length victory and will look to build on that effort against another strong field of older runners.

The son of Freighttrain B has compiled an outstanding career record, with 14 victories and six runner-up finishes, and has earned $140,562. He races for owner Alberto Avila, who purchased him for $26,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Bred in Utah by Darian Burt, Bee a Freight Train is out of the Apollitical Jess mare N Bee C. He is trained by Mario Portillo and will break from post four with Jose C. Guerrero aboard as he seeks his 15th career victory.

The Director's Handicap Stakes brings together a deep field that includes multiple graded stakes winners and several older horses that have continued to improve with experience. The combination of proven class and current form should make for a competitive 350-yard sprint as the field battles for the featured stakes victory.

With experienced campaigners and accomplished stakes performers filling the starting gate, Sunday's Director's Handicap Stakes headlines another solid afternoon of Quarter Horse racing at Grants Pass and is expected to be one of the day's most anticipated events.
