Fireworks Over Paris leads the $25,000 Vandy's Flash Handicap on Sunday at Los Alamitos.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–JUNE 19, 2026–An evenly matched field of sophomores will be in action in the running of the $25,000 Vandy's Flash Handicap on Sunday at Los Alamitos. The 350-yard event will be led by the Ryder Rite gelding Fireworks Over Paris, the runner-up in the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity last year.

Fireworks Over Paris has hit the board in seven of his nine career starts with earnings of nearly $65,000. Fireworks Over Paris is trained by Jose Flores for the partnership of Flores, Layne Sprouse and Mark and Marta Winslow.

 Adding further pedigree power to the field is Go North, a gray gelding also bringing strong family connections to the gate. Out of the superb producer Moonlight Corona, he is a younger brother to Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby winner Norco.

The field also features Cmtellumwhereyagotit, part of the "CM" trident owned by Randy Dickerson and trained by Luke Lindsey. This team is fresh off an Adequan California Derby Challenge victory with stablemate Cmhowaboutthemcowboy.

Rounding out the primary storylines is Chiseled N Chrome, a standout Paint Horse stepping up to face Quarter Horses for trainer Angela Aquino, the undisputed bar for Paint Horse performance at Los Alamitos. Levaughn Gines’ AP Scorpion Boy will complete the field.
