MEXICO CITY, MEX–MAY 29, 2026–The Sunday afternoon card at Hipódromo de las Américas in Mexico City will feature an exciting program of Quarter Horse racing, highlighted by the $14,100 Javier Rosique Palavicini Classic. The 300-yard stakes event is set for the first race on the card and will showcase a competitive field of older runners aiming to start the afternoon with a standout performance.

Heading the field is the 6-5 morning-line favorite, Ccb Rich Ranch Boy, who enters the race in top form after winning two of his three starts this season. The talented gelding opened his 2026 campaign with a victory in conditioned company before stepping up to win the Easily A Possum Classic in impressive fashion. In that effort, he accelerated late to draw away and win by one and one-quarter lengths.

Ccb Rich Ranch Boy has established himself as one of the more consistent runners on the grounds, earning multiple victories and proving capable of handling tougher competition. His recent form makes him the horse to beat as he looks to add another stakes victory to his résumé.

The Oklahoma-bred is by Corona Cartel and out of the Strawflyin Buds mare Budder Than Ever. Bred by Double Bar S Ranch, LLC, he was purchased for $30,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale by Cuadra Cartas Blancas. Trainer Jorge Alberto Ruiz Periban will saddle the favorite from post four, with Miguel Angel Rodriguez named to ride.

While the favorite brings strong credentials to the race, the rest of the field will be looking to spoil his bid and secure an important stakes victory of their own. With a short 300-yard distance, a quick start and a clean trip will be critical factors in determining the outcome.

The Javier Rosique Palavicini Classic is an excellent opening feature for Sunday's program and promises fans an exciting start to the afternoon. As the gates open for the first race, a talented group of older Quarter Horses will aim to leave their mark and begin the day with a memorable performance at Hipódromo de las Américas.
