One of the brightest young Quarter Horse stars to emerge at Ajax Downs last season returns to action Wednesday afternoon as Chillin With Peeps makes her highly anticipated 3-year-old debut in the featured sixth race.

AJAX, CAN–MAY 26, 2026– AJAX DOWNS, MAY 26 2026 - One of the most exciting young Quarter Horses of 2025, CHILLIN WITH PEEPS, makes her 3-year-old debut at Ajax Downs this Wednesday in the afternoon's featured sixth race. The 300-yard dash has attracted a very strong field of horses of all ages. First race post time is 3:30 p.m.

Chillin With Peeps burst onto the Ajax Downs scene last October, romping in her first career start as a 15 to 1 longshot. Just three weeks later, and as the even money favourite, she led from start to finish to capture the prestigious Alex Picov Futurity. Owned and bred by Chantelle Bourgeois of Enniskillen, Chillin With Peeps spent the winter playing in the snow with Bourgeois's younger horses. "She was teaching all of the younger fillies on the farm how to gallop through several feet of snow. She's done a lot of growing over the winter and is really looking and feeling great."

Wednesday's comeback race won't be an easy one for Chillin With Peeps and jockey Cassandra Jeschke as they meet multiple stakes placed 4-year-old gelding PEIGHNTMEADIAMOND, stakes placed mare LADY ALICE and an exciting newcomer for owner Rick Crispi, WORKING CLASS HERO, who won a $100,000 stakes race in Oklahoma last summer. The field is completed by the promising EMBRACE YOUR FATE and Bourgeois's winning 4-year-old LOOK TWICE.

"She's meeting older horses for the first time, plus the nice 3-year-old of Rick's, so this is no easy spot to start," said Bourgeois. "But I wanted to give her a good test so we have a solid foundation to go into the Ontario Bred Derby in June. I'm looking forward to Wednesday; win, lose or draw it will be a good race."

*There is a unique aspect to race 6 on Wednesday as the remarkable veteran stallion MARYLAND MAGIC, a 25-time winner, competes against his daughter MAGIC IN WONDERLAND in a 300-yard speed index event.
