OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–May 15, 2026Preakness Day at Remington Park will deliver an exciting Saturday afternoon of racing as the spotlight shifts to the next generation of Paint and Appaloosa stars. The 12-race card begins at 12:02 PM and features six trial heats for the Grade 1 Speedhorse Graham Paint and Appaloosa Futurity Trials, with fifty-two talented juveniles competing for a coveted spot in the estimated $225,000 finals on May 30.

The trial heats are scheduled as races four through nine, with all entrants set to sprint 350 yards in hopes of securing one of the ten fastest qualifying times for the rich Grade 1 finale. The afternoon promises speed, proven talent, and rising contenders eager to stake their claim to the division’s elite.

The opening trial heat, race four, is set to load at approximately 1:28 PM and features one of the nation’s standout juveniles, Big Rotney, who enters as the 1-1 morning-line favorite. The undefeated gelding has been flawless in four starts, winning both the Grade 1 $115,300 American Paint Classic Futurity and the Grade 1 $188,500 Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity. Racing for owners Apple R Racing, the accomplished gelding has already banked $129,544 in earnings.

Big Rotney is sired by Painted Turnpike and out of the Crm Livewire mare Crm Country Girl. The Oklahoma-bred standout was bred by trainer Matt Whitekiller, who will saddle the gelding from post four with regular rider Cody R. Smith aboard. They aim to remain unbeaten and secure another trip to a major futurity final.

The fifth race and the second trial heat will feature another familiar contender, Paddy Powers, the 6-5 morning-line favorite. The gelding has twice finished runner-up to Big Rotney in both the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity and the American Paint Classic Futurity, proving himself among the division's top juveniles.

Owned by Planefun, LLC, Paddy Powers has recorded one win, two runner-up finishes, and a third-place finish in four starts, earning $58,112. The gelding is sired by Phq Apollitical Jess and out of the Painted Turnpike mare Power Fade. Bred in California by Kelly J. Garvan and Lloyd Yother, he will break from the rail under jockey Mario Delgado for leading trainer Dee Keener as they seek a strong qualifying performance.

One of the afternoon’s intriguing contenders appears in race seven and the fourth trial heat, with Amplified Kool 918 entering as the 2-1 morning-line favorite. The talented filly finished third in the American Paint Classic Futurity, only a half-length behind Big Rotney and Paddy Powers, signaling she continues to develop into a major threat in the division.

Owned by 918 Bloodstocks, the Oklahoma-bred filly is sired by Painted Turnpike and out of the One Sweet Jess mare Kool Jess. Dee Keener conditions the filly, who will break from post three with jockey Cristian R. Esqueda aboard. The connections aim to secure a return trip to the finals.

With proven stakes performers, undefeated standouts, and emerging young talent across the six trial heats, the Speedhorse Graham Paint and Appaloosa Futurity Trials promise thrilling action at Remington Park on one of racing’s biggest afternoons.
