MEXICO CITY, MEX–May 9, 2026—Sunday's card at Hipódromo de las Américas will feature a nine-race program highlighted by two stakes races, the $22,600 Mexico Quarter Horse Breeders and Owners Association (AMCCCCM) Stakes, which is the second leg of the Derby triple crown series and the $25,000 Revelation Classic.

The first race on the card is scheduled to load into the gate at 14:30, featuring a field of five talented three-year-olds set to compete at 400 yards in the $22,600 AMCCCCM Classic.

Dark Water Bay enters the field as the 7-5 morning line favorite. The accomplished gelding looks to return to the winner’s circle following a fourth-place finish in the first leg of the Derby Triple Crown Series, Easily A Possum Classic, which was won by CCB Rich Ranch Boy in April.

Last season, Dark Water Bay earned the title of American Champion Two-Year-Old Gelding after impressive victories in the Alfredo Castro Rea Classic while also recording strong efforts in the Prize Classic, John Deere Mexico Juvenile Challenge, and Campeonato Juvenil. He has earned $85,663 for the owners of Cuadra Alpuyeca.

Sired by Mr Jess Perry and out of Aqua Girl by Corona Cartel, Dark Water Bay was bred in Oklahoma by Mike Vaughan. Trainer Antonio Garcia Carranza will saddle the gelding from post two with regular rider Heriberto Camacho aboard.

With five quality runners set to battle at 400 yards, the opening stakes race promises to provide an exciting start to the Mother’s Day program. CCB Rich Ranch Boy, who won the first leg of the Derby Triple Crown series, will not be entered in the AMCCCCM Classic.

The stakes action concludes in the ninth and final race of the evening with the $25,000 Revelation Classic. A field of nine three-year-olds and upward who have never won a Classic race will load into the gate at 18:30 to compete at 350 yards.

Leading the field as the 5-2 morning line favorite is Enstrom, a four-year-old gelding shipping in from the United States. The gelding has reportedly been preparing in Mexico since early March as he readies for his debut start Sunday evening for owners Rancho Las Gaviotas.

Enstrom is sired by Jess Good Candy and out of the Corona Cartel mare All N The Jeans. He was bred in Texas by Bobby D. Cox. Trainer Alfredo Rabanal Salinas will saddle him from post five with jockey Mario Alberto Lopez Marmolejo named to ride.

Aunt She A Dan D, enters as the second choice on the morning line at 3-1 odds. The filly has already captured two allowance victories this season in March and April and now looks to make it three straight wins while earning her first Classic title. She has earned $13,600 for owners Cuadra Los Gavilanes.

The filly is sired by Uncle D and out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Mia Fuego. Bred in Oklahoma by Sammy J. Manek, Aunt She A Dan D, will break from post seven for trainer Ruben Romo Garcia with jockey Alejandro Gomez aboard.

From the opening stakes event in the AMCCCCM Classic to the closing feature in the Classic Revelation Stakes, the Mother’s Day card at Hipódromo de las Américas promises an evening full of excitement for racing fans, horseplayers, and families celebrating the holiday together.
