OGDEN, UT–May 4, 2026—The Friday afternoon card at Weber Downs signals the highly anticipated start of the 2026 race meet, as a ten-race program gets underway at noon, highlighted by six competitive trial heats for the Beehive Futurity. A total of 31 juveniles will make their career debuts over the 300-yard distance, all chasing one goal, stop the clock fast enough to secure a spot among the ten finalists returning for the May 30th Beehive Futurity Finals.
The trials begin in race five, where the tempo of the afternoon shifts into high gear. From that point forward, every race carries added weight as lightly raced and unraced two-year-olds step into the spotlight for the first time, bringing months of preparation to a defining moment on the track.
Trainer Kylie Valenzuela comes into the trials with strength in numbers, leading all conditioners with six entrants. Her barn has shown steady intent leading into opening day, and her first representative, Famosa Sin Tacha, appears poised to make noise in the opening trial heat in race five. The filly has posted two encouraging gate works, including a sharp :12.40 breeze at 220 yards on March 20th that ranked second of fourteen that morning. She followed that effort with another educational move on April 18th, signaling readiness for her debut.
A $25,000 purchase from the Heritage Place Yearling Sale, Famosa Sin Tacha carries a pedigree to match her preparation. She is by leading freshman sire Dulce Sin Tacha and out of the One Famous Eagle mare One Famous Cinch, bred in Indiana by Edward B. Melzer Revocable Trust. With Guillermo Suarez set to ride from post three, she enters as a filly with both foundation and forward momentum.
As the day builds toward its conclusion, the final trial heat in race ten offers another compelling storyline with Shesarelentlessgirl. Consistency has been her calling card, recording two gate works under :12.80 at 220 yards, times that may not top the charts but reflect a dependable and experienced runner heading into her debut. That kind of foundation can prove critical when the pressure mounts.
Owned by Jay and Elaine Troost, the Kj Mucho Macho Man filly was acquired for $15,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. She is out of the Panther Mountain mare Prissy B Panther and was bred in Louisiana by Harold Jeanotte and Steven Deville. Trainer Ramiro Fregoso will send her from post four with Eric Ayala aboard, aiming to translate her steady preparation into a breakthrough performance.
With 31 juveniles set to make their first career starts, the Beehive Futurity Trials present one of the most unpredictable and exciting days of the meet. These young prospects represent months of dedication from their connections, and when the gates open, potential turns into performance. At Weber Downs, opening day isn’t just the start of a season—it’s the unveiling of the next wave of talent, where any one of these juveniles can rise, deliver, and punch their ticket to the finals.
