MEXICO CITY, MEX–April 9, 2026—The road to the RG3 $146,949 México Futurity begins this weekend at Hipódromo de las Américas, where a full slate of 112 juveniles will be tested across two days of trials on the Saturday and Sunday cards. Each day features seven races contested at 250 yards, with only the five fastest qualifiers from each program advancing to the lucrative final on May 3, 2026. With limited spots available, every stride will matter for these two-year-olds aiming to make an early statement in their careers.

Saturday’s trials are highlighted by the presence of Peligrosita Eagle in race seven, a filly who has already stamped herself as one of the most promising runners in the field. She enters off a sharp debut performance, stopping the clock in 11.97 seconds, the fastest time recorded among this group of juveniles. That effort places her firmly among the leading contenders to secure a qualifying berth.

Sired by Mr Eagle Master and out of Peligrosita by Walk Thru Fire, Peligrosita Eagle was bred in Mexico by Abelardo F. Gallegos. Racing for Rancho M. Gonzalez, she is conditioned by Jose Baltazar Aguilar and will break from post two with Jose Manuel Cisneros in the irons.

Race three shapes up as one of the most competitive heats of the day, featuring a trio of impressive debut performers. DK Lumbre de Oro comes off a strong first-out victory on March 29, where she posted a time of 12.17 seconds with a speed index of 78. She will face DK Golden Light and Good Old Titan Krash, the latter entering off a 12.14-second debut score on March 22, setting up a tightly matched group of contenders.

DK Lumbre de Oro, a filly by Bullish One out of Gold Y Fire by Walk Thru Fire, was bred in Mexico by Cuadra La Presita. She races for Cuadra Mendoza and is trained by Cesar Garcia Serrano, drawing post four with Huberclein Gomez named to ride.

In race six, Red Stolen Show returns off a winning debut on March 22, where she covered the distance in 12.33 seconds. She will meet another dangerous rival in DK Foose Gold, who also broke her maiden on March 22 with a quicker 12.13-second effort and a speed index of 80, adding further depth to an already competitive trial.

Red Stolen Show is sired by Red Storm Cat and out of Stolen Show by Special Leader. Bred in Mexico by Luis Arturo Vazquez Solorzano, she competes for Rancho San Pedro under the direction of trainer Juan Jose Razo, with Jesus Loredo set to ride.

Sunday’s card will complete the picture, as another group of juveniles competes for the remaining five spots in the final.

BR Esmeralda headlines race four, breaking from post six after a strong runner-up effort in her debut, where she recorded a time of 12.10 seconds. Her performance suggests she has the ability to match strides with the top contenders as she looks to secure her place in the final.

Hez Awesom Jolla CG will be featured in race two from post three after a winning debut in 12.31 seconds. Notably, he already holds a victory over Ears Henry, who returns in the same trial, adding an intriguing rematch element to the heat.

The colt, by Heza Awesome Blue and out of Sheza Royal Jolla CG by Dog Daze Afternoon, was bred in Mexico by Orlando Cruz Garcia. He is trained by Cesar Raul Escamilla and will be guided by J. E. Pineda.

With a strong mix of proven debut winners and rising prospects, the RG3 México Futurity trials promise to deliver two highly competitive programs. The battle for the ten qualifying positions will be fierce, as these young runners look to secure their shot at the May 3 final, while others will aim for the consolation, which carries a purse of $15,737.
