OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 17, 2026–
Saturday evening at Remington Park continues championship night, where the spotlight turns to the elite of Paint and Appaloosa racing in a program loaded with both emerging juveniles and established stakes performers. Headlining the evening is the Grade I $188,500 Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Futurity, where the ten fastest qualifiers will break from the gate in race eight at approximately 9:09 PM, going 300 yards.

Dw Showin D Off has stamped himself as the one to beat after a dominant start to his career. The Uncle D colt turned heads early by posting the fastest training race and backed it up on opening night with a decisive one and one-quarter length trial victory to secure the fastest qualifying time.

Bred and owned by Danny J. Watkins, and out of Shez Showin Off by Sf Royal Quick Flash, the colt enters the final with momentum and confidence. Trainer Dee Keener will send him out from post seven with Roman Cruz aboard, a combination that has proven effective in these short-distance finals.

Right behind him is Mw Bcause Im Alive, who enters as the second-fastest qualifier after a sharp trial win in which he shook clear late to score by a length. The B Cause Im a Hero colt defeated fellow finalists Game Favorite and Paddy Powers in that effort, showing both determination and finishing ability.

Bred in Oklahoma by Wendy and James Howard and racing for Haus of Hero, he is conditioned by James J. Gonzales, II, and will break from post six under Christian Cardenas.

The Futurity brings together ten juveniles all looking to validate their early promise, but the race appears to run through the top two qualifiers, both of whom have already displayed superior speed and professionalism heading into the final.

Earlier on the card, the $35,000 Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Juvenile Stakes in race five provides a compelling rematch between Wf Manfredi and Go Lady Bug. The two met in the trials where Wf Manfredi narrowly prevailed in a head-bobbing finish to secure the top qualifying mark. The Phq Apollitical Jess colt, bred in Oklahoma by Steven B. Wright and owned by Painted Faith Racing, returns from post two for trainer Dee Keener with Rolando Raudales aboard.

Go Lady Bug, owned by Rhonda Valdivia and trained by Samuel E. Valdivia, will look to turn the tables from the rail under Jose Vega after a strong runner-up effort in their previous meeting. The Juvenile Stakes serves as an early showcase for the next wave of talent, setting the tone for the evening’s stakes action.

The Grade II $20,000 Paul Harber Memorial Stakes in race six adds a layer of proven class to the program, bringing together seasoned competitors in a 300-yard sprint where the break will be everything. Ima Chili stands out in credentials, boasting multiple graded stakes victories and one of the top speed figures in the field. He will be tested by Over the Shock, a dangerous rival with a history of elite performances at this distance, including a track-record caliber effort, while Vesper Martini enters as another consistent stakes performer capable of capitalizing on any misstep from the top contenders. With experienced runners across the board, the outcome will likely be decided in the opening strides.

The evening also includes a meaningful tribute: the fourth race honors the late Cesar Gomez with the Cesar Gomez Memorial Purse, recognizing the respected jockey whose legacy continues to resonate within the racing community.

From rising two-year-old standouts to battle-tested stakes veterans, Oklahoma Futurity night delivers a full spectrum of Paint and Appaloosa racing at its highest level, setting the stage for a night defined by speed, precision, and championship-caliber performances.
