PHOENIX, AZ–DECEMBER 25, 2025—The Saturday card at Turf Paradise will be highlighted by the $34,800 Mike Hastings Memorial Stakes, featuring the highest money-earned three-year-old and upward fillies and mares set to sprint 350 yards. A competitive field of ten accomplished runners is scheduled to line up for the featured dash.

J Lazy Six Racing’s homebred filly Wicked Cowgirl Smart heads the field as the 3-1 morning-line favorite. The accomplished four-year-old mare is an eight-time winner and already boasts stakes victory this season, having captured the $28,000 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes. Her consistent success has pushed her career earnings to $144,663.

By Flying Cowboy 123 and out of Df I Aint Jo Wagon by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, Wicked Cowgirl Smart is trained by David John Williams and will break from post nine with Kevin Carbajal in the irons.

Stablemate Basking is also set to make her presence felt, entering at 4-1 on the morning line. The four-year-old mare broke her non-three condition earlier this year and finished a solid second to Wicked Cowgirl Smart in the Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes. She has earned $68,804 to date and continues to show steady progression.

Basking is by Tres Seis out of Scoop of Sunshine by First Down Dash and was bred in Oklahoma by Double Bar S Ranch, LLC. David John Williams conditions her as well, and she will start from the rail in post one with Noe Garcia, Jr. returning to ride.

The field of ten talented fillies and mares is scheduled to go to the gate at approximately 1:43 PM, with the $34,800 Mike Hastings Memorial Stakes promising a fast and competitive 350-yard showdown at Turf Paradise.
