MEXICO CITY, MEX–OCTOBER 23, 2025—This Sunday’s race card at Hipódromo de las Américas will feature seven races, highlighted by the $44,631 Mexican Breeders’ Derby, which will be contested over 440 yards as the seventh race on the program.
The morning-line favorite at 5-2 is Princesa Bury, crowned the 2024 Mexican Champion Two-Year-Old Filly. She enters the Derby with an impressive record of ten career wins, including five consecutive victories during her Derby campaign, and career earnings of $231,340 USD.
Princesa Bury is a daughter of Danny Cartel and out of Princesa Bury Buu, by One Dashing Eagle. Bred in Mexico by Armando León, she races for Cuadra Guillen, who purchased her for $29,132 USD at the Mexico Select Yearling Sale. Juan José Razo trains the filly and will break from post position six under jockey Alejandro Gómez.
The second choice at 7-2 odds is CC Regal Jack, who will start from the rail in post position one. He is trained by Marlon Abraham Quezada Colunga for Rancho Las Gaviotas, with Mario Alberto López Marmolejo aboard.
A full field of eleven runners is set to break from the gates at approximately 5:30 p.m., each vying for Derby glory in the $44,631 Mexican Breeders’ Derby over 440 yards.
