SHELBYVILLE, IN–OCTOBER 22, 2025—Saturday morning at Horseshoe Indianapolis promises a high-octane lineup with a thirteen-race card stacked with major stakes action, highlighted by six premier Quarter Horse races from the eighth through the thirteenth. Headlining the day are the $320,750 Governors Final Stakes and the $359,600 Miss Roxie Little Futurity Final, anchoring a blockbuster series of events set to draw attention from across the racing community.
The stakes action begins in Race 8 with the $320,750 Governors Final Stakes, where ten top two-year-olds return from October 4th trial heats.
Morning line favorite Tw Streakin Cowboy (5-2) enters off a strong trial win by a head over second-choice Wr Hott Shott. Tw Streakin Cowboy has quickly become a promising force in the juvenile division with three in-the-money finishes from four starts.
The gelding is a homebred by Flying Cowboy 123 out of Wh Imastreakinbeach, campaigned by Thomas Wylie and trained by Natasha Perez. He will break from post six with regular pilot Diego Villamil Bocanegra.
Wr Hott Shott (3-1) looms as a serious contender after a pair of runner-up efforts in the $172,000 Heartland Futurity and the $30,000 Indiana Juvenile. The Oklahoma-bred One Famous Eagle gelding has already amassed $63,736 and breaks from the far outside for owner-breeder Raymond A. Whitmire and trainer Tim Eggleston with Luis E. Luna Diaz aboard. The ten-horse field will dash the classic 400-yard distance, each seeking their breakthrough in this lucrative final.
Race 9 features the $30,000 added Miss Roxie Little Juvenile Stakes, also at 400 yards, with Kiss a Favorite pegged as the 5-2 favorite in what looks to be a highly competitive field of late-developing juveniles looking to end their season on a high note.
In Race 10, the $30,000 added Governors Juvenile Stakes lines up another field of two-year-olds, this time headlined by Candy Spice at 3-1 on the morning line. With youth and raw speed on full display, this event should deliver an exhilarating showdown over the same 400-yard distance.
The eleventh race brings older horses into focus in the $109,600 added Indiana Championship Stakes. Mr Michel, the 7-5 morning line favorite, brings both experience and class into the spotlight, aiming to reaffirm his status as a top Indiana-bred contender in a field of seasoned runners.
Race 12 showcases the $133,720 added QHRAI Derby Finals Stakes, where Kadillaking stands as the 3-1 favorite. The field of three-year-olds is expected to put up a fierce battle, with Kadillaking leading a talented group of finalists eyeing a prestigious derby title at season’s end.
The day’s grand finale is set for Race 13 at approximately 5:18 PM: the $359,600 added Miss Roxie Little Futurity Final, drawing the ten fastest qualifiers from the October 4th trials.
Cv Denali tops the morning line at 3-1 after an undefeated campaign that includes a dominant win in the $196,000 Gordon Mobley Futurity. The Escondido Beach-sired filly, bred by Sheri Miller and trained by Claudio Barraza, breaks from post ten under Fernando Morin, carrying the hopes of owners Campos Family Ventures, LLC.
Close behind in the betting is Tw No Beach Secrets (4-1), the fastest qualifier. Though he finished fourth behind Cv Denali in the Gordon Mobley, he rebounded with a sharp win in the $30,000 QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Futurity.
The homebred gelding for Thomas Wylie is another by Escondido Beach and is trained by Natasha Perez, with Diego Villamil Bocanegra returning to ride from post seven.
With over a million dollars in added purse money on the line across the final six races, Saturday’s stakes-loaded card at Horseshoe Indianapolis offers high stakes, elite talent, and thrilling 400-yard battles.
The Horseshoe Indianapolis races can be watched on Q-Racing Video.
